Google Business Profile Posts

Google Business Profile posts are short updates, offers, and events published straight to your listing, and they keep the profile active in the panel customers actually see. We write and schedule them weekly for businesses across the United States. Call (216) 294-2723, or if the profile itself is not configured properly yet, start with profile optimization.

Call now and we will tell you how we can help with this.

What posts are good for, and what they are not

Posts are often sold as a ranking tactic. They are not, really. Categories, reviews, and proximity decide where you place. What posts do is take up space: a profile with a current post shows a card that a profile without one does not, right at the moment somebody is comparing you against two competitors.

They also work as a low-effort answer channel. The questions you field on the phone all day are the same ones people are silently wondering before they call. Answering one a week in the listing itself does more than any promotional post ever will.

The catch is cadence. Posts drop out of the main view after roughly a week, so posting monthly means the profile is bare most of the time. This only works if it is consistent, which is exactly why most businesses stop after three weeks.

The four post types

Offers and events get more room in the panel than plain updates.

  1. Update posts

The default. News, finished work, advice, a service you want to highlight. No date constraints, expires from the main view after about a week.

  2. Offer posts

A named discount or promotion with a start and end date and a redemption link. Gets the most visual space of any post type.

  3. Event posts

Tied to a time and place. Useful well beyond retail: open houses, seasonal availability windows, and booking deadlines all work.

  4. Product posts

Item, price, and a description. Built for retail but usable by anyone with a fixed-price offering.

FAQ

Questions we get asked

Do Google Business Profile posts help ranking?
Not directly in the way a category does. Posts help by keeping the profile active, giving Google fresh content associated with your business, and occupying more of the panel a searcher sees. The measurable win is usually engagement and clicks rather than a rank change.
How often should I post?
Weekly is the practical target. Posts expire from the main view after about a week, so a profile posting monthly is empty most of the time. Consistency beats volume: one useful post a week outperforms five in a day and then nothing for a month.
What types of posts can I publish?
Updates for general news, offers with a start and end date, events tied to a time and place, and product posts for retail. Offers and events get more visual space in the panel than plain updates.
Can a post get my profile suspended?
Posts get rejected more often than they cause suspensions. Common rejections are phone numbers in the post body, prohibited content, and language Google reads as misleading. Repeated rejections do draw attention to the listing, so it is worth writing them properly.
What should I actually post about?
The questions you answer on the phone all day. Finished jobs, seasonal advice, a change in hours, a service people do not know you offer. Posts written to fill a schedule read like they were, and nobody engages with them.

No time to post every week?

That is the usual reason profiles go quiet. We can take it over, or set you up so it takes ten minutes a week.
